Hi, I'm just starting on HP but way back in the day I used to play HL (I think I started on there around 2005... I was 9). Those were the days I learned what "lol" meant and taught myself to use inproper grammar when sending messages on there because it seemed cooler... lol. My name on there was Flame (the name of my imaginary "dream horse" at the time), so that is what I called myself on here but I may change it - we'll see. I stopped playing as much when they changed the game, but still checked in on it until around 2015 and was sad to see that they closed it altogether. I recently stumbled across a message on Reddit (I think) from someone who used to play HL and they said HP was very similar so I thought I'd try it out. :) So far I'm getting hit with lots of nostalgia. I have no idea what I'm going to breed and I doubt I have the time/skills anymore to play the way I used to but I'm just going to have fun, live in the moment and see where things take me. :) I love making new friends so am definitely open to chatting with anyone; however, I am also very socially anxious and sometimes very awkward, so please keep that in mind if I seem a little odd sometimes (not that I'm not also actually odd...). xD

In real life I currently work in Financial Services/Accounting at a university (I actually credit that to my bookkeeping when I played HL... I always kept a log of jobs and money lol). On the side I am also an aspiring writer and YouTuber. :D At least that's the plan at the moment... to be honest, I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up and I'm 30 now, so if there are any teens who play on here, please know that you don't ever need to know what you want to be when you grow up... you figure it out on the way lol. In my free time I like to travel and am usually outside doing something active... hiking, bicyling, skiing in the winter, etc. I of course write a lot. I used to be obsessed with photography and photo manipulations but I don't do a lot of that anymore.

One other thing that's different from when I used to play HL is that I do actually have my own horse now, a bay Polish Arabian mare named Destiny. I've had her since 2010 and she's 21 now. I've been riding since 2005 (mostly western and bareback, a little english here and there). I also have 2 dogs: Lexi (Border Collie/Australian Shepherd) and Luna (golden lab mix); and one cat Sydney who lives with my grandmother next door (a muted calico I believe is her technical color name; most people just consider her grey but she has orange/gold highlights).

Anyway, sorry this is so long. I guess I did say I love writing lol.

Welcome to HP, Flame! I think almost all of us are HL transplants, and we love welcoming each and every one in to our game!

I too am a socially anxious person, but the community here has been wonderful in allowing me out of my shell and encouraging me to make friends. I'm just coming back after a year's hiatus, and this place still feels like home. So I hope you end up finding that same camaraderie here.
