THIS MONTH'S THEMES: Adventure, Confidence

It does not have to fit both themes, just one or the other. However, I'll be giving you a prompt for each theme!

FIRST: Pick a sentence and fill in the blanks.

My greatest adventure was/is/will be ____.

SECOND: Go take a picture of whatever you filled in the blank with! If it's a feeling or something intangible, take a picture that represents it in some way, either by emotion or correlation.

- The picture must be on theme and follow the prompt.
- The picture must be HP appropriate.

My greatest adventure was marrying my husband! From the planning to the cutting of the cake, it is an experience I will always treasure and never forget. I was surrounded by my best friends and we were all on horseback. This is the last pic I took before our ceremony!

One of my greatest adventures was when I went to Cape Town, South Africa in 2008 to work with a group of other young folk. I'd never been on such a trip without family, and never would have dreamt that I would go to South Africa.
I fell in love with the black folks* we met and worked with, and also fell in love with the country.

This photo was taken in a place called Hout Bay, where the group and I helped to paint some homes in the nearby community of Imizamo Yethu. We also painted the interior and exterior of the community center they had which was a few old shipping containers welded together and fitted with electricity and a kitchen. No toilet though, so we had to use a shared outhouse.
One day we were working inside, and I was on a plastic chair painting part of the ceiling that our rollers couldn't get to. I was looking up as I stepped down, and lowered my right foot into the large drum...thing of white paint (the exterior was green). I hopped on my left foot as I raised my right up out of the paint. Luckily the floor had protective plastic sheeting over it so the paint didn't make too much of a mess; just my foot up to the ankle!
A group of about 5 or 6 elderly Xhosa women were sitting nearby and cackling with laughter at my antics! The Xhosa language includes clicks of the tongue, and hearing them laughing and clicking as they talked made it funnier for me!


Anyway, here's my photo for this entry. I can't find my other photos from that trip, so this will have to do. The date on the pic is incorrect.

*Please note that I used "black people" as there are multiple tribes in S.A., mainly Zulu and Xhosa. We also met white people (Afrikaaners) but we didn't work with or really have much interactions with them.

2. Kuwait - woah! That looks like a super cool area to visit and what a fun memory to hold on to xD 

My greatest adventure so far living out here in SoCal was last month hiking out at Black Star Canyon in Silverado, CA this guy was a brave dude out on the trail! Got super close and was even following us for a bit. No idea where he came from, but still cool none the less! Much more fun seeing one out and about than walking around a zoo!
I also got to see my first wild rattlesnake while hiking, but the pic I have of it isn't that great. :/
