The Swan Book by Alexis Wright "A hundred years into the future, when climate change has irreparably damaged the earth, a refugee from the frozen northern hemisphere called Bella Donna finds a mute teenage girl she names Oblivia and takes her to live with her on an old derelict warship in a dry, polluted swamp in northern Australia." - https://stella.org.au/prize/2014-prize/the-swan-book/

Caliban's War, the second book in the Expanse series by James S.A. Corey (i.e. Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck), and thoroughly enjoying it even though I've watched the TV version so many times that I know it like the back of my hand. ETA - @Eyre, if it isn't too late. On the subject of Discworld, they tend to be very 'marmite' books (either love them or hate them). But if you're into surreal fantasy that doesn't take itself (or anyone else) very seriously, then give them a go! Pratchett was also just... a master with language, and brilliant at playing around with language. Something that I didn't realise so much when listening to the audiobooks as a kid, but that you really pick up on when reading his writing.
