Hello HP!

As you all know by now, it's been a rough month here on HP, but we're recovering and we're working hard to make security upgrades to the back end of HP to prevent anyone from being able to mess with things (although, again, nothing is ever 100% hacker-proof).

In addition to this, we've also increased our backup frequency to every 12 hours, so just in case something else major were to happen and a backup would need to be used, hopefully there would be minimal interruption to all of you. But we will do our absolute best to try to not have that happen at all.

In the meantime, registration is still closed. If you are a current player and you need to make another account, you can message me on account #1, and I can manually make an account for you. I do not have an exact date for when it will re-open, because I want to make sure we're as protected as possible before we do.

Mini Double Points Extravaganza!

To thank you for sticking around through all of the hack and subsequent bullshit, we are doing a mini-double point extravaganza!

Horses and dogs will get double entrance points and upgrades using their breed specialty will earn 2x points for placing in the top 10 places in shows! Now through the end of September.

Upgrade Seller Rewards

Based on survey responses, we have added HPP rewards for upgrade sellers! This perk I believe will take some experimentation, so there could very likely be some adjustments in the future to it, but for now the perk is this: upgrade sellers will receive 1 HPP for 1 month upgrades, 2 HPP for 6 month upgrades, and 3 HPP for 1 year upgrades!

This is meant to be a little perk to upgrade sellers from the game, so it's not anything huge, but it does reward sellers (and especially bigger sellers) in a small way. Obviously, the main perk to selling upgrades is the HPD from doing so since we don't sell HPD, it's essentially a way for players to buy HPD for USD, without inflating the HP economy.

Just as a reminder: HPP can be traded in for upgrade time, HPD, HPB, or animal points! (Players can also earn HPP from earning achievements and referring players!)

Bug Fixes and Other Fixes

The club message bug from the others news post has been fixed! As well as some others that have popped up around the site during our upgrades. However, if you notice extra 's hanging out around the site, please let me know ASAP so we can fix them - that is related to our newest changes!

Also, if you recently retired an animal and it showed back up, that's our fault, let us know and we will get it re-retired for you :).

I believe that is all of the new news for today, HP! We are all working very hard to return to normal and keep things moving forward, and I hope that all of you will continue to stick with us through it all!

We've still got plans for new features, and some really good suggestions we can implement from the survey, as well as our fall contests (like trick or treating!) leading us into the holidays (with the Cyber Monday sale, 24 Days of Christmas, Secret Santa, Giant Word Search and more!), so it's onward and upward!

P.P.S. I added animal stylesheet credit rules to the Rules. They're the same as all of the other graphics rules: if you use a resource, add the full URL credit. I know we've all basically be abiding by them anyway, so nothing is different, but now it's officially in there.
