About Belgian Draft Horses

The Belgian Heavy Draft horse, also known as the Belgian Heavy Horse, Brabançon or Brabant, the Belgian Draft is not only one of the strongest draft breeds, but this breed has also held the world record for the tallest & the largest horses in the world. They stand between 16.2 and 17 hands or 168 and 173 cm at the withers. On average a Belgian can grow to weigh around 900 kilograms (2,000 pounds). The American bred Belgian Draft Horses are generally a light chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail (Almost looking like a Palomino in color!). The head is relatively small and well-shaped. American bred Belgians in North America are generally not as large as the European Brabant but are of a similar build and characteristics

Interestingly, HP has brabants as it's own breed. haha

Jaya, thats generally because of the difference in style from the American Belgian Draft in comparison. A true Brabant is going to be stockier, and even a little heftier built!
