Before I even begin attempting a full on layout... What types of HTML is allowed? Like, can I use div? Or is it just CSS/tables? |

css, divs, tables...all allowed! Only thing you really have to watch is that, if you do a cover-up to cover the links at the top, you have to make sure somewhere else in your layout you have all of them (including the message-related ones) and that those links work.  |
