What are your Thanksgiving plans? What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? What are you making? It's my favorite holiday! Give me recipes, and let's talk food!
I'm making the turkey and gravy and baked beans (and rolls!) for one side of my family, and the entire dinner for the other side. We're hosting at our house and will have an excuse to break in our brand new table :). Planning to make turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, mini peppers stuffed with cream cheese and bacon, sweet potato casserole, rolls, and cranberry sauce. That's where I'm at so far. I'll probably do two different turkeys, and I think I'm going to try a stuffing with squash and sausage. |

Mmmm. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday cuz FOOOOOOD. We're hosting my mom's side of the family at our house this year because my grandpa is in the nursing home and we are the closest place to the nursing home so then people can stop in and see him as well. We usually do turkey and ham -one time, I think, two years ago? we deep fried a turkey and that peanut oil is EXPENSIVE. O.o but it was really good! We've also brined a turkey. also excellent! -...uhh, stuffing, mashed potatoes and graaavvyyy, green bean casserole, scalloped corn, GIFTAS (pronounced "yif-tas") are what my Scandinavian family makes in the stead of cranberry dressing: http://whatwillwedotoday.com/2013/11/28/swedish-giftas/ ...I am not a fan of cranberries myself, but people are very upset if this doesn't make an appearance. xD....rolls/bread, and PIE, PIE, PIE. Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie, blueberry pie, chocolate pie, peach pie, strawberry pie, rhubarb pie...basically ALL THE PIE. (In case you didn't notice, the whole point of the thanksgiving meal in our family is the pie...) Also, sometimes Norwegian delicacies like lefse, lutefisk, herring, and krumkake are known to make the occasional appearance in the spread. If not, they usually appear during Christmas then.
I think we are for sure making the stuffing, green bean casserole, giftas, pumpkin and pecan pies - simply cuz we don't trust anyone else in the family to make it correctly. xD For some reason the stuffing didn't even make an APPEARANCE at last year's whoop-dee-doo which was held at my aunt and uncle's - and needless to say there were some very unhappy peoples, myself included. D: which is why WE are making the stuffing haha! Also, the secret ingredient to the best pumpkin pie is (sssshhhhh*molasses*sssshhhh). |

We're driving about 3hrs south of us to visit with friends who are practically family, since both our families live on opposite ends of the country and that's too much for travel and money just for a day lol. I'll probably be making a pumpkin pie and molasses cookies! They were a hit last year so I'm going to make it again! :) |

Zero plans for Thanksgiving so far, but now I'm hungry. If I go to Omaha I'm coming over for leftovers. :P |

Thanksgiving plans are a question mark right now. I've offered kielbasa and kraut for my dad though. My kraut is bomb. If you don't like kraut I guarantee you'd eat my kraut.
Other than that I'm a potatoes and stuffing girl.
For the work potluck I'm making my pumpkin chili though! Link Tree |

I'm going over to my dad's for Thanksgiving, he doesn't live far away. I'll probably end up working a little bit (even though my boss swears I won't have too). I think we are going to have Turkey and clam chowder, but that's as far as we got in the food planning process. Since I have a feeling I'll be working a little on TG, I think I'll try and persuade my family to come to the barn with me (that's where I work) so they can meet all the horses I'm constantly talking about. |

Now unless my husband's family invites us to dinner before the weekend I'll be having everything Sam listed [and steal her pets in the process]. |

Okay, so the official menu for Thanksgiving at my house is: Citrus Butter Rubbed Turkey (with turkey gravy to put all over everything) Beef Roast with Au Jus Sourdough Stuffing with Sausage and Butternut Squash (I love traditional stuffing, but Joel hates it, so we're trying something new) Mashed Potatoes Spicy Baked Beans with Candied Bacon Crescent Rolls with Cinnamon Honey Butter (Texas Roadhouse butter copycat) Green Bean Casserole Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows and Pecans Orange Bourbon Cranberry Sauce Mini Peppers stuffed with Cream Cheese/Cheddar/Bacon/all the good stuff Pimento Cheeseball And sangria! My grandma is making the pies! She's doing cheesecake, pecan pie, and pumpkin pie. |

I'll be wearing a dress. Who needs constrictive waistbands? Not I. |
