So sometimes us girls just need a good cry. Name a song that makes you sad (you don't actually have to cry). Please give us a link to listen. Youtube is fine or if you can give a link to listen directly that would be awesome too. --------------------------------------------------- GUARANTEED tears when I listen to the Sept 11 version of Heaven by DJ Sammy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM6xNRXEKy8 --------------------------------------------------- Your turn! I will watch/listen to every link you guys post so go for it. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AqESKOaeGk Distant Drums by Jim Reeves. This was played at my grandfather's funeral because he adored him. It's a song about a man loving a woman and wanting to be with her without wasting any time in case he was called to go to war. It's just a very touching song and it gives me goosebumps every time. |

Also, Holes in the Floor of Heaven. The one second that played when I made sure it was the right version made me tear up. They played it at my great-grandmas funeral when I was a kid. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WiMB-zV253o Also, The House That Built Me sometimes. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DQYNM6SjD_o Drink a Beer also gets me sometimes since it was super popular when I had to put Dixie down. And obviously I'm not drinking beer with my horse, but the message is there. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RM5aW83L_DE And finally, Dixie Lullaby, for the same reason. And today is the three year mark from when she was put down :(. I would love to get a combination of the lyrics tattooed. I don't like any of the choruses enough alone, but I would love "And they danced to a Dixie Lullaby. We'll meet again, by and by. Oh my, what a beautiful life? Just like a Dixie Lullaby." https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hmDC-y1oy0A I've never really bought of myself as a big crier, but I think it's just because I turn all of these songs off when they come on. The Dance as mentioned above almost makes me cry. It was a punch to the chest when Garth played it live on Leno's last Tonight Show. |

Ballad of Dwight Fry by Alice Cooper.
My uncle used to ALWAYS play it for me whenever we went somewhere. Turn the radio up full blast and we'd sing along at the top of our lungs. Alice plays it live every concert he does, and every time I hear it after he passed I'm in hysterics.
I don't think I can listen to Angels Fall First by Night wish anymore either because I looped it leading up to his funeral. Even reading the lyrics I can feel a lump in my throat. Link Tree |
