I decided to make a new thread! 

So as most of you know, I work in a prison. And as some of you already know, I have recently become a coordinator for our Puppies for Parole program. The program consists of taking dogs who need a second chance from local shelters and pairing them with inmate handlers for an eight week training course. Once the cycle ends, the dogs are adopted out into new loving homes and then we get new dogs. It is a wonderful program as it gives these dogs a chance to find happy forever homes, and it also gives the offenders a sense of purpose while serving their sentences. Dogs certainly brighten up an enviornment that is angry and sad. They bring happiness to a place with gloomy old brick buildings and acres of razor wire. 

As of 12/29/15 I am now in charge of Puppies for Parole, along with my partner. Which means that together we now run the whole program at our institution! 

This is my third cycle of dogs. I'll post pictures and updates below :) 

We got our new dogs yesterday, we got 5 total. 

Stella - Shepherd mix female

Willow - Weiner dog mix female

Max - Pit bull mix male

Piper - Border collie mix female

Angus - Boxer/Shepherd mix male 

Since Angus was assigned to the handlers on my side of the prison, he's the only one I have pictures of. I'm already in love with him! Just look at that face! Big floopy ears! He's still pretty timid. I'm hoping he feels more comfortable in the days to come. 

I demand pictures of the other puppies too! He is way too cute. You should take him home. xD

This is Lucy, she came in around the third week. She's a beagle mix.

Yeah I am really not sure what's up with their weird photoshopping thing. I guess to make them seem at home? lol. This is Stella, a lab mix.

Another odd PS job..I guess they think the prison backgrounds are too drab lol. This is Wilow, a very rude Dachshund. 

I think next time I'll just stick with the pictures I take myself, haha.

So I did the whole "adoption day" thing at Rural King and nobody was interested in Angus. He hasn't had any applications, and that's really sad. So I offered to foster him. I don't know how well it's going to work out, but I love him so much :( Here he is looking at me pitifully at the adoption day.
