Equ - hes an Australian Shepherd, unfortunately, we never showed him. We bought him as a 'pet' from his breeder and she told us if we wanted to, the ASCA has shows for spayed/neutered dogs and we could show him there, so we originally planned to. However, his visit to the vet for his last set of puppy shots messed him up. The vet came in and started talking about how mean the aussies are at this farm he goes to, etc, etc. and before he even talked to Koda or got to know him, he grabbed Koda by the scruff of the neck and ever since then, hes had issues with strangers. He has gotten a LOT better since then, but it still takes him a while to warm up to people. I've been taking him to work with me (I work in a doggie daycare) for about 2 years now, and he is still nervous around people hes known the entire time.

thanks! Yea, it sucks. But he has gotten so much better and it makes me happy to see that even still, he has little moments every day where HE takes the first step towards people and doesnt run and hide behind us. ★ Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating★ |
