well, we made it to the final day of our annual 24 days of christmas!

what's a winter/holiday tradition you and your family/friends do?

for us, my mom will hide the "christmas pickle" on the tree, and whoever finds it first gets a little prize! the one that lives rent free in my head is when me and my brother were climbing on fruniture to get to the top of the tree and pushing each other over. needless to say we can be a bit violent, but it's always in good fun!

When I was a kid every Christmas Eve  we would go drive around looking at the lights with my grandma, brother plus sometimes my cousins and aunts and uncles. I miss that but it lives on in my memories :)

idk we just open gifts and then go to my aunts sometimes

but your  "christmas pickle"  reminds me of the ken doll we had at my grandmas. one year he lost his head. and we wasnt able to find it anywere so one of my cousins stuck an pickle on for an head. and oh gosh that lasted forever. when grandma moved and we were cleaning up her house we found it and it wasnt as gross as one would think for 5 years. lol

if this counts please put the points on grims horse !! The Magician 《 7 》 (ID #462065) - Horse Information

Growing up, my family would have a smorgasbord of snacks on Christmas eve for supper. We had my parents, my sister, my grandmother,  my great grandmother, my mom's cousin and her husband, and myself. We'd eat some in the kitchen together. Then we'd go to the living room to do the tree, which took us hours to unwrap everything, and we'd pick at the food left on the table all throughout unwrapping and then ate some more after gifts were finally all done too. My grandmothers would both spend the night at our house because they lived 1 1/2 hours away and my father always drove down in the afternoon to pick them up and bring them back to our house.

Then Christmas Day, we'd get up and do stocking and unwrap the newly overnight appearing gifts under the tree "from santa" (my mother was a huge advocate for that - I'm not with my son. We focus Christmas on Christ). And we'd have a big (actual) dinner at noon time.

But now that I'm an adult, we do everything in the morning on Christmas Day. It's just my son, my husband, and I. We usually get up early and do our stockings first. Then the gifts under the tree. Then we go over to my parents-in-law's house around noon for a family meal where everything contributes something. It's all my husband's family (his parents, his brother and his wife, his sister and her husband and 2 kids, and when she's in the state, his other sister with her husband and 3 kids. And do gifts to each couple from each of us.
