New Breed

We don't typically announce new breeds being added, but it's also not every day we have a new player-invented breed added! In case you missed it, our very own Broken Vow was the winner of the prize of creating a custom breed from our Christmas in July raffle. She has chosen the Ale-Jay as the custom horse breed to be added.

Ale-Jay ("Ahh-lay-jay")

"Named after my heart kitty (Alejate) & heart pony (JJ). Both of which have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Released in the regular Store during the first week of August. August 1st was Ale's birthday. The horse's body type would have a similar frame to that of the American Saddlebred. Light, upright, springy, and flowing manes & tails, but have feathers like the Friesian. Different gene pools can alter the frame a bit to sustain that of a more Baroque type breed or Pony type breed. Versatile in many disciplines and are often gaited, curious and smart minded. One of the cool things about the Ale-Jay is that their coat color has no restrictions. They can come in any color of the spectrum and can obtain any kind of coat pattern. Think like an Orange Tabby with the marmalade, stripes, spots patterns or the Siamese with the Blue/Seal/Lilac/Flame point coloring. And this is where the mythical part kicks in, does it have scales? No, that's just the fur pattern to look like it does. A super cool hue of Blue, yeah buddy! Traditional pinto markings, sure thing! Spots like Apps, are rare, but possible! No additional horns, wings, lion like tails, fins, etc. though. So there is some kind of limit involved, haha!" - from BV

As August 1st has come and gone this year, for 2025 the Ale-Jay will be in the store as a Spotlight Breed for this week alongside the other August Spotlights, and starting next year will have their spotlight the first full week of August. They are currently in the store for the week, so go pick up a pair or five! They will return to the cash shop for another year as of next Sunday.

Spotlight Breeds - August

Our other Spotlight Breeds for the month of August are the Direwolf, Dragonwolf, and Hellhound!

Direwolf - Direwolves were added to HP in 2014. They are an extinct canine breed made popular on the show Game of Thrones. They're described as being a large grey wolf breed with sharper teeth than their modern counterpart. The current highest pointed Direwolf on HP is Eldrawyn, owned by Irishii & Whynn!

Dragonwolf - Dragonwolves were added to HP in 2014. They are a legendary breed of dog on Runescape that possesses the traits of both dragons and wolves. The current highest pointed Dragonwolf on HP is Soleil, owned by Insomnia & Tragedy!

Hellhound - Hellhounds were added in July 2022. Hellhounds are fantasy hounds which are guardians/servants of either: hell/the devil/the underworld. Commonly viewed as big, black, strong, and with red eyes or flames around them, the description varies by fandom/mythology. More information about them can be found on their forum request post. The current highest pointed Hellhound on HP is Scion, owned by Irishii & Insomnia!

Revamp of Club President Achievements

Pivoting away from discussion of spotlight breeds, I also wanted to take this opportunity to announce that, as of the August 1st start of this month's club presidencies, I have revamped the Club President achievement. Instead of there being one "Club President" player achievement that you got once and that's all she wrote no matter how many clubs you were president of, each club now hands out its own individual achievement to their club president of the month. With it, you get the little achievement added to your list on your player page, as well as 1 HPP. You will only get the art the first time, however for each month you are president, you will get 1 HPP per club, even if you already have the achievement on your list.

For now, the achievement art is a generic blue ribbon, however now that I know it works, in the future we will be hopefully getting a little individual achievement art for each club's achievement!

All the way from 2022, when we had an Auction: Create Your Own Breed I had been a part of the bidding war for Auction: Custom Horse Breed but backed out when the bids were higher than what I was comfortable spending due to my upcoming Project Orangey One. Then Concourse offered the Custom Breed - Pitch Your Idea! where we could get our custom breed ideas put to a vote and be then later on turned into her winning custom breeds. That's where I put my Ale-Jay into the hat and came a close second choice. So my pony remained still a dream until now, which I'm still in shock since there were a lot of Tickets in that prize category. So this one time putting almost all of your eggs in one basket finally paid off lol. xD
