Aulë, the Smith of the Valar, had come.

His presence was unlike any other. Clad in robes the color of ash and flame, his broad shoulders bore the weight of countless ages. His hands, calloused and scarred, carried a hammer of impossible craftsmanship, its surface etched with runes that shimmered faintly, as though alive. His eyes, deep and unyielding, held the wisdom of the earth's very bones—ancient, patient, and quietly grieving.

He paused, surveying the world before him. Mountains, rivers, and forests—all things born of his shaping hands. Yet the land bore the scars of shadow: ruins where cities had stood, fields burned and left barren, and the faint stench of decay lingering in the air.

Aulë's jaw tightened. These were the marks of Morgoth's corruption, a mockery of all he had created. The tools of beauty and wonder he had forged in innocence had been turned to weapons of greed and destruction. The thought sent a deep ache through his spirit, but there was no time for despair. The earth’s song, faint and fragile, still called to him.

With a sweep of his hammer, he struck the ground—not in violence, but in a gesture of renewal. The impact sent a gentle tremor through the earth, and from the cracked soil rose a glimmer of light, as though the land itself were answering his call.

“I did not forge this world to watch it fall to ruin,” Aulë murmured, his voice resonant like the rolling of distant thunder. “Let us see if there is yet a flame that can withstand the dark.”

He turned, the hammer resting across his shoulder, and strode toward the horizon. He did not come to wage war, nor to claim dominion. Aulë had come to rebuild—and in his hands, even the smallest spark could ignite a fire that would endure the ages.
