Politics and Safe Spaces

Hey everyone!

For those of you who live under a rock, this past week the US had a presidential election. The results for some was the feeling that it was the end of the world, for others it's the greatest thing to ever happen in the history of their lives, probably. In other words, the results have been even more polarizing than the last time it happened. It's brought up a lot of strong emotions for or against (or even of "omg don't care!") for everyone.

You're now probably wondering why I'm bringing this up as a news post on a horse sim game.

Why?

Because I'd like to remind everyone that HP is a Safe Space. This is a game that many players use to escape their offline life, and that typically includes having to think about politics in any capacity while they train their current generation of horse or dog to greatness. 

In lieu of that sentiment, the other admins and myself would like to request/remind everyone to please try to keep politics off of HP. Respect your fellow players' opinions and emotions and just leave such heavy topics off the game. This could include discussions of Roe v. Wade (aka abortions), election results that aren't for our game's clubs, etc., and include but are not limited to player names, animal names, forum posts, etc. It's unnecessary on a Horse and Dog sim game. 

We don't currently have a rule specifically banning it, however it is a policy we as admins agree on, and could become a rule in the future should it become an ongoing issue. At this point we decided this news post would be the first step.

This is a good idea, by default a lot of forums/games prohibit politics as a topic of discussion.
