Breed List Update:
As HP grows and flows with different breeders, we have noticed some breeds no longer have breeders, and haven't for a little while now. As such, we have cleaned up the breed list to make getting to your favorite breeds a little easier! We have removed from the store roughly 200 breeds between the horse and dog lists, moved a few to the Cash Shop, and moved some to “Crossbreed Only” availability.
Don’t Panic!
This does not mean the breeds are gone forever and that you can’t get them in the future or that your current ones in retirement will disappear. You can always get a breed re-added almost the same way you’d get a brand new breed added onto HP. Make sure you have 3 breeders who agree to breed a previous breed in the forum, then message Koni on account #33! Crossbreeds such as Labradoodles, Walkaloosas, etc., are now only available via breeding. Meaning you must breed a Poodle to a Labrador to get a Labradoodle, or a Tennessee Walking Horse to an Appaloosa to get a Walkaloosa.
An updated list of current breeds can be found HERE! You can also see a list of the recognized crossbreeds on HP and what you’d have to breed together to get them HERE
Embassy Update:
With the breed update, comes a Breed Embassy Update as well. Since we have moved some breeds to Crossbreed only, and have added breeds that are breed-to-achieve only, we have had to update some embassy rules to make sure things stay fair. The following requirement is now in affect:
Another thing that has been noticed recently is players breeding at very early ages to acquire their 3rd generation of a breed to get the Ambassador Title, and not to help other players. Breed Embassies are in place to showcase the best of the best of your breed. By becoming Ambassador, you’re showing the HP community that you have the dedication to not only train your breed to the highest standard but also the compassion to share your breed with other players and help them get the best start in their new breed. The following requirements will also now be in affect:

Especially if it's not a mythical breed, is there any way we can petition to move something from the cash shop to the regular shop at all? |

Nope! Wild breeds are also going to stay in the Cash shop. The ones that are currently in the regular shop are because someone is currently actively breeding them. Wilds and Mythicals are in the cash shop, crossbreeds you have to breed to get, "regular" horse and dog breeds are in the regular store. |

I haven't even looked at the store list yet and it already feels cleaner to have all these things organized in a consistent way! I very much appreciate having it clear where/how to get different types of breeds :D Also super hype for the breed-to-achieve playstyle :D Already loving it with my Saint-Pierres and I'm def gonna go peruse the list and try some more lmao |

I agree with mango on liking the breed-to-achieve thing. I'm also loving doing this with the saint Pierre dogs. I haven't gotten that far yet. My first set of labs and Bernese mountains are 15 today so they will breed this week to get my first lot of labernese. So I still have a ways to go to get my first saint Pierre as I have to train my labernese for 15 weeks still. But I'm still having a lot of fun with it. Thanks awd for introducing this breed to us all. And thanks to staff for squeezing them in! |

I like the idea of having to actually breed to get the Crossbreeds. I'm also thankful that you don't remove breeds even though only one person is breeding them. I have a soft spot for my little ankle-biters. =) |

Yeah totally agree. I've been doing this for the first time with Moscow Watchdogs. It adds a whole new challenge to the game, absolutely love it. |

Okay. Question/Concern: In the other helpful info of horse crossbreeds, there are lots of scenarios for breeding what with what to equal x and so on BUT I'm noticing the dog crossbreeds haven't gone into all the probable scenarios, yet. For example, horse crossbreeds and glancing at "Nez Perce" -- These are all the possible listed crosses to equal Nez Perce:
which I interpret to mean that if I have one offspring that constitues a "Nez Perce" and continue my lines by breeding said Nez Perce to either an Appaloosa or an Akhal-Teke then I should remain with a Nez Perce breed, correct? and not just in a crossbreed sense but in the "new crossbreed" system that Koni has done? If the above is true then is there a way to update the dog crosses to make it equally so? The dog crosses don't have a back and forth manner of options like the horse crosses do: i.e. Goldendoodle can only be produced by Golden Retriever x Poodle Does this mean subsequent mates to continue a line of Goldendoodles must be bred from further Golden Retriever x Poodle crosses and fingers crossed (no pun intended) that the genders just "happen" to match up in subsequent Goldendoodle pups? Or is there a way we can treat the result crossbreed, in this case Goldendoodle, to be the same as the Nez Perce situation and breed Goldendoodle to Golden Retriever or Poodle to produce subsequent Goldendoodle offspring? Does that make any sense? Or am I completly missing the natural schematic of Mendel-ian genetics? Basically, can and/or should the dog crosses list be added to or tweaked to reflect the continuation of certain breed crosses in future generations? |
