A Few Reminders!

Buying double tickets

I've received several messages since the mascot contest started regarding double tickets not awarding properly when you buy them from the cash shop.

Few things to remember when buying them...

• Make sure your previous months' tickets have expired first! The date for them on your home page should read 0000-00-00 before you go try to buy more. If your previous tickets have not expired yet, it will only award you 75 tickets, which are your "extras" for that month.
  
  

• When you buy them from the cash shop, it will cycle itself through a few pages in order to buy them. You must let it do its thing otherwise it will charge you and not give you the tickets! It will refresh the cash shop page with a new message at the top, then will change itself to the regular store with a message at the top, then will change itself to your edit profile with a message at the top about changing the price of your tickets. DO NOT CLICK ON ANYTHING UNTIL THE CYCLE IS COMPLETE!

Crediting and Coding theft

There has been an increase in crediting issues and coding theft on the game as of late, so I thought I would also take this opportunity to remind everyone of the rules regarding both of these things.

Coding Theft

Admiring someone else's layout and/or coding abilities is wonderful and encouraged! Stealing said code you admire is definitely not. This includes entire layouts and just parts of them. It is theft, it is rude, and it WILL get you warned and/or fined (depending on how many times you've had this rule infraction before). 

If you admire someone's code, try messaging them and asking if you can use it, if they can teach you how to do it, etc! Don't be a jerk and steal!

On a similar vein, if you find some cool coding online from a coding development site, it is required, not to mention just polite in general to credit the person whose code it is, even if it is from some other site and created by someone who is not on HP. These credits can be displayed the same way as a Colourlovers/pattern credit...with a clickable link or the actual full link typed out/displayed in text. 

For example...Pattern by Weirdy and whatasong or "Pattern: www.colourlovers.com/pattern/3770210/galaxy_in_blue"

Crediting

Since approximately 2010, HP has required all images used in any sort of graphic to credit any/all images that were used to create it. We also require them to be in full URL format ON the image itself so that, if we were to type what the credit is into the address bar on our internet browser, it would take us directly to the photographer's page/website. All images used must also be stock and/or you must have permission from the original photographer to use said image(s).

The exceptions to this are:

• Patterns as layout backgrounds (eg. the swirls on this layout HERE). These must be linked in the html on the page itself.
  
  

• Avatars/Signatures or images posted on the forum. (eg. If I posted a picture of my dog in a topic about pets, I wouldn't need to credit it). 
  
  

• Photos of you, your kids, your pets, etc. in your player bio on your page.
  
  

• Smaller version or a snip preview of a graphic in the auctions. If you link to the full-sized image in the auction description, however, the full-sized image must be credited!
