I had a thought this morning that I could make How-To videos for different aspects of the site to coincide mainly with the Help pages.

Pages would be something like you see my screen and hear my Canadian accent voice talking you through how to do whatever I'm doing on the screen.

What I'd like to know is...

- Would you find this helpful? (both if you were a new player, or as an existing player)
- What topics would you like to see covered for sure?

Already thinking I could do one to go alongside the crediting images page, seeing as that's often something that confuses people seeing as every site is different.

Thoughts?

I've been recording myself reading picture books for work for the past like year, not sure why it didn't occur to me until this morning that I could incorporate that into the help areas of HP for those that can't learn from the giant blocks of text on the help pages...

I think it's a great idea too. I struggled a little when I first joined and found myself constantly returning to the help section to go over things a few more times and still ended up confused.

I think it would be a great thing to do. That way if anyone is confused as to what to do or how to do something, they could get clarification by watching them.

For videos, I would basically go through the entire getting started guide, for sure. But, yes, re-writing the help pages, with screen shots every step of the way, would be great, I think!

Definitely crediting, a quick getting started guide for when players first join, maybe a basic run-through using the HP layout generator? I know those are things that new and returning players commonly ask about/look at.

i get easily distracted, so being able to watch a video on something would be super helpful! i think it'd be easier to listen to someone talk us through steps and then follow along. 

i'd love to see something for getting started, and definitely the HP layout generator.
