Hey everyone!

Sometime this coming week we should be getting a major new feature into the game! So I’m going to give you a little preview of what it will be now (and I’ll post a more detailed post of exactly how it works once it comes out so everyone knows how to use it).

I talked about it in one of my previous posts, but basically we are going to automate Binny’s sales and add those items (plus a few new ones) into the store! Basically this way, we can easily make things available in the store, and then things like retirement breedings will happen instantly once they’ve been paid for instead of waiting for an admin to do it.

Plus, since it’ll be programmed in, we can add some cool, new things that we wouldn’t have been able to do manually! This is the list of what will be in the store to start:

But, regardless as to how I feel about the actual update, it's fantastic that we have such an involved admin and mod team. You guys are the best!

Oooh, I'm excited about the extra public & private shows, foal gender picker, double tickets, and the more limited addition animals. Of course, this all depends on the pricing of these items, lol. I was never able to afford sola's or binski's sales, so if it's going to be like that, then that's gonna be a let down.

My very quick, initial reaction was the same wistfulness as I think many newer players (err..."non-elite"??) feel..Mainly, 'when will I be able to afford this' etc.

But the thing is this:

HP is a game. The long time established players have been playing and offering services for months, years..They've invested time in the game, they've learnt new skills such as graphics, or coding. Or they have offered accessible-to-everybody services such as training or account sitting. There are tons of different ways to earn money on HP.

The wonder of these new items, as a recently active player, is that it gives that little bit extra to 'work' for. I'm going to be more inclined to make graphics, offer services, learn coding etc to be able to fund these rare, special items. The fact that, should real life allow it, I'll be able to buy them with real money is just an added perk to it. The fact that achievements will be able to be exchanged for horse bucks is extreme fairness on the Mods' and Sam's part.

Yeah, I'm going to have to wait a while before being able to afford these. But that's the point! To encourage game play!

These items aren't open to the "elite", they're open to anybody and everybody who invests a bit of time into a game.

Perfectly said, Ardenn. That's really how I feel about it, too.

And I really love that there's going to be more than one way to purchase these things. If you can't use RLD or referral/achievement points, use HPD, and if you don't have enough HPD for what you want, keep saving until you do. These are desirable things that aren't a normal part of game play, so there has to be a fairly hefty price tag on them to keep their value.

^I do really like that aspect of it. Giving players more ways to purchase an item makes them more attainable. 

love the new ideas as long as if it doesnt work things will be changed till it does, guess Im a little leary cause of the changes Horseland did and wouldnt fix

anything,  they only wanted the fast money, I lost 8 years of hard work and 6000 animals, not to mention all the premi accts I had, well thats over and done

with,  just hope nothing like that happens on here 

PS: I dont even mind paying more for store animals, or the vet etc, just hope it doesnt get out of hand where it costs an arm and a leg to feed or train

What are ... Acheievement points?

Concourse, basically you get 1 achievement point every time you get a new achievement.

Lady Rancher....I can just about guarantee without needing to discuss it with anyone else is that HP will NEVER make changes the way Horseland did and then never fix them when asked about them by players.

HL staff are virutally non-existent. They don't care about the players or who wants what. All they care about is their name getting bigger and their wallets fatter. Most of us that are here lost a LOT when they made their changes. I know I did. But that's why I'm here. There's an owner and staff who care about the game. They care about the players. They look for feedback on a constant basis to make sure we are giving the players what they want. That's why Sam posts updates about this stuff. That's why every few months or so, there will be a survey where you can put your thoughts to paper and be heard. We WANT to know what players think. We want to make the players happy by giving them awesome perks that they agree will be fun to have. And the way these items will be in the stores, like it has been said before, will have multiple ways of attaining them and will also give players an extra something to save for and work for. It's an extra incentive to play the game. 

Do we know about how many achievement points you would need to get any said item from the store? I have 31 and it doesnt seem like much to get anything from the store?! Unless like i mentioned before about getting 1 point per like 100ker foal or 200ker foal(make it a lil harder to acheive!). otherwise acheivements are useless! and some you can only get once a yr...

Azalie, we haven't set prices at all yet. But currently it will be achievement AND referral points combined. So if you run out of one, you can use the other. Its easy to get referral points whenever you want to.

As I stated in your other thread, we do not have that in place currently, but we might in the future. In the meantime, if you only have 31 there are still a bunch of acievements you can get, and we're constantly adding more!

i know prices and such are in the wind still! Just seemed like those wouldnt get ya very much! haha

Ok, so will be be able to combine acheivements or referral points from other accounts? Because that would be cool.

I'm so excited for this feature :D I'm already saving to buy another retirement breeding for my curly coats haha. Miffed at myself that I wasted the last one

As mentioned above, there will be new store animals such as Liberty Labs and Patriot Paints, will more crossbreed breeds also be offered?  Such as breeds that are only currently available through cross breeding other breeds here on HP?
