Boxer
About the Breed
Boxers are a medium to large mastiff type breed that originated in Germany in the 19th century. They are believed to be a descendent of the now extinct Bullenbeisser, which was used for hunting large game. The boxer was developed by crossing the Bullenbeisser with other breeds like a mastiff and English bulldog. They are known to be very athletic but yet can be very patient with children. They have a reputation for being protective and can make excellent watch dogs. |
