Appendix Quarter Horse
About the Breed
An appendix quarter horse is a first-generation cross between a quarter horse and a thoroughbred. This would mean that in a perfect world you would get the best of both breeds. However, in general a lot of the details of these horses, like color and confirmation and temperament, would really depend on how the genetics of the parents come out in the baby. For example, the horse could be more tall and slender like a thoroughbred or more short and stocky like a typical quarter horse. You could also get a horse that is a mix of both. The color will also depend on the breeding, however, the most common is black, grey, and brown. Due to the mix of breeds these horses can usually be used for a variety of things. |
